Common tourist traps and how to avoid them

Scams and risky spots named in official travel advice for Slovenia, in our own words.

  1. Unregistered tour guides

How it works: Licensed guides must show a tour-guide card.

How to avoid it: Ask to see the card before booking.

  2. Jaywalking fines

How it works: Heavy on-the-spot fines apply; if you cannot pay, documents or assets can be held.

How to avoid it: Use marked crossings.

Some links are affiliate links. Booking through them costs you nothing extra, and a small commission helps pay MyVisaPortโ€™s ongoing hosting and maintenance costs and keeps the site free of banner ads. How partner links work

Verify with the embassy before you book. Visa rules change without notice.
