Business, work or just passing through?

The rules above are for a holiday: tourism and visiting family and friends. Business visits, paid work and transit are covered separately below.

Business visits to Brazil

Not verified yet (not yet covered). We haven't verified the business rules for Bruneian passport holders, and we don't publish rules we haven't checked against an official source. A rule that is awaiting verification or not yet covered is not a negative visa decision: it only means we haven't confirmed it on an official source yet. Until then, see gov.br.

Transit through Brazil

Visa-freeTransit (changing flights in Brazil)

Airside transit: no Brazilian visa if you stay in the international transit area

Foreigners connecting at Brazilian airports to a third country do not need a Brazilian visa as long as they do not leave the international transit area. If you have to leave it (for example to check in again), you pass immigration and need a visit visa unless your passport is visa-exempt - see the holiday section.

Conditions

  • Stay in the international transit area.

Official wording

“Embassy of Brazil in Abu Dhabi (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gov.br) – Entering Brazil: 'TRANSIT Foreigners travelling to third countries with connections in Brazilian airports do not require a Brazilian visa, as long as the traveller does not leave the international transit area. If it is necessary to leave the international transit area (for instance, to procede to a new check-in), the passengers will need to go through immigration control and, therefore, will have to present a visit visa to the Brazilian authorities (except holders of passports from countries with which Brazil has visa waiver agreements).'”
