Conditions

  • Passport must be valid for at least 90 days beyond the planned stay.
  • Have an onward or return ticket (unless you can prove you live in Mainland China or Hong Kong).
  • Show means of subsistence if asked: at least MOP 5,000 for up to 7 days, MOP 10,000 for 8–14 days, MOP 15,000 for 15–21 days and MOP 20,000 for longer stays.
  • Entry is at the discretion of the Public Security Police (PSP) border officers.

Under Macao law, transferring in the international area of Macau International Airport without an entry record is not treated as entering Macao, so no visa is needed. People entering Macao to continue to another destination via the airport within 48 hours are also exempt from entry formalities.
