Business visits to Cambodia

Not verified yet (not yet covered). We haven't verified the business rules for Lao passport holders, and we don't publish rules we haven't checked against an official source. A rule that is awaiting verification or not yet covered is not a negative visa decision: it only means we haven't confirmed it on an official source yet. Until then, see evisa.gov.kh.

Common tourist traps

  1. Motorbike bag and phone snatching

How it works: Thieves on motorbikes cut straps and snatch bags or phones from pedestrians, tuk-tuk and bike passengers, often injuring them.

How to avoid it: Carry bags away from the road, not in bike baskets, and use tuk-tuks with side grilles.

  2. Fake dollars in change

How it works: Shops and clubs have given fake or damaged US dollar notes as change.

How to avoid it: Check notes you receive.

  3. Job scams and trafficking

How it works: "Easy, high-paid" jobs lead to locked compounds around Sihanoukville, Kandal and border areas, passports withheld.

How to avoid it: Treat such offers with suspicion and verify employers.
