Somali passport holders need a Serbian short-stay visa (type C), unless they hold a qualifying Schengen, UK, EU or US visa or residence permit.

Conditions

  • If you hold a valid Schengen, UK, EU member-state or US visa, or a residence permit of a Schengen country, an EU country or the US, you can enter without a Serbian visa for up to 90 days in 6 months, within the validity of that visa or permit (Government decision of 30 Oct 2014; not for emergency or convention travel documents).
  • Apply in person at a Serbian embassy or consulate general, or online via the portal for foreigners welcometoserbia.gov.rs (needs an account on the eID portal eid.gov.rs).

Business visits to Serbia

Not verified yet (not yet covered). We haven't verified the business rules for Somali passport holders, and we don't publish rules we haven't checked against an official source. A rule that is awaiting verification or not yet covered is not a negative visa decision: it only means we haven't confirmed it on an official source yet. Until then, see mfa.gov.rs.

Common tourist traps

  1. Pickpockets at airports, transport and service stations

How it works: Pickpockets work tourist areas, airports, public transport and motorway service stations; criminals may assume foreigners carry lots of cash.

How to avoid it: Keep valuables secure and don't carry large amounts of cash.

  2. Unregistered taxis

How it works: Only registered taxis show a municipal registration number next to the cab number.

How to avoid it: Use registered taxis or call a radio taxi instead of hailing one.
